Geranium renardii is a lovely little plant that enjoys a hot, dry, sunny border. It flowers best in poor soil too, so a good choice if your soil’s a bit rubbish. Its flowers are a very pale violet, almost white, with purple veins. It is a very pretty flower. The leaves are also very attractive, being grey, relatively thick and textured with fine hairs, making it pleasant to the touch as well as the eye. There are several renardii hybrids too, which all look very similar but with different flower colours. Whereas the straight species is almost white, the others come in various shades of violet and light blue, with similar darker veins. These types make a good choice for a rock garden or the front of a sunny border.

Hardy Geraniums are one of the most diverse genera of herbaceous perennials. It is possible to find a Geranium to suit most parts of your garden, from the vast range of species and varieties available. They complement most other plants beautifully and, chosen wisely, can provide a continuation of colour in the garden from spring through to early winter.

Please note that the heights, spreads and flowering periods mentioned are approximate, as they can be affected by your soil type, light levels and other various conditions that may surround the plant.
